Get Help From Our Hollywood Physiotherapy Team

The Specific Care Chiropractic team can help you deal with pain and a limited range of motion caused by musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. We prescribe both chiropractic and physiotherapy services to address your health needs, stop your pain, and prevent further injuries.

We believe physiotherapy is key in relieving pain and recovering your previous strength and health after an injury. We help some patients overcome chronic, disabling pain to return to their previous activities.

Some of the conditions we treat include:

  • Back injuries, including those with spinal involvement
  • Bursitis
  • Carpal tunnel
  • Herniated discs
  • Muscle strains
  • Neck injuries, such as whiplash
  • Sciatica
  • Scoliosis

We also prescribe chiropractic and physiotherapy to address other conditions not on this list. Let us assess your treatment options and determine what treatment plan betters your condition. We can discuss your situation openly and honestly when you consult with us during your initial exam.

Prescribed Physiotherapy Treatments for Patients in Hollywood, FL

When you first visit our office, you will undergo an intake exam. This will include explaining your symptoms and undergoing various diagnostic exams, such as x-rays. By evaluating your condition, we can address your symptoms and create an individualized treatment plan.

While we often use chiropractic adjustments to help with neck and back issues, physiotherapy services play a key role in many treatment plans. We prescribe one or more types of therapy to help many patients rebuild their strength and range of motion.

Our physiotherapy services include:

Rehabilitative Therapies

Rehabilitation comprises exercises that can help you heal from your injuries, reduce your pain, and rebuild strength in the affected area. It can also help you regain your normal range of motion. We can also provide therapies to help patients relearn specific skills, such as self-care or occupational tasks.

Patients who require rehabilitative therapies will likely spend time in our Rehab Room, using specialized equipment to aid in their recovery. We typically prescribe rehabilitation therapies for those with traumatic injuries, chronic pain conditions, and repetitive motion injuries.

Exercises to Rebuild Strength and Flexibility

Stretching and strengthening exercises are key to preventing future injuries in a weak area of the body. You do not want to rehabilitate from an injury, only to push too hard and reinjure yourself. This is where exercises to build strength and improve flexibility come in.

Our physiotherapists will demonstrate these exercises and work with you during your sessions. Then, they will send you home with a plan to continue strengthening and stretching until your next session. When our team takes you on as a patient, treatment doesn’t end when you leave our office. You can accomplish many things on your own to get stronger and build your confidence.

Corrective Care

Corrective care monitors your progress and any lingering symptoms. It helps you manage residual pain or flare-ups if they occur. Through corrective care, our team provides a plan for long-term health and wellness, including managing any ongoing symptoms or pain.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is one of the best, rarely recognized tools of physiotherapy. Many do not consider the benefits of massage outside of self-care and psychological relaxation, but it is great for musculoskeletal injuries, too. Massages can release muscle tension, help with spasms, reduce pain, and increase blood flow to promote healing.

We have licensed massage therapists on our physical therapy team who can help increase your range of motion, manage joint dysfunction, and provide treatments for tension-related conditions. They utilize the best techniques to address your injuries and health needs. In addition, massage is often very relaxing. There are both mind and body benefits to this type of therapy.

Electrical Muscle Stimulation (E-STIM)

E-STIM uses a hand-held device to send electric pulses into muscles that are difficult to reach through massage or other therapies. We often prescribe E-STIM for muscle strains, spasms, inflammation, and other injuries or conditions.

Ultrasound Therapy

Ultrasound therapy provides many of the same benefits as massage or E-STIM therapy. Instead of using manual techniques or an electrical current, it uses sound waves. These waves penetrate muscle tissue, helping to relax and encourage blood flow and healing. We most commonly prescribe ultrasound therapy for injuries of the shoulders, neck, lumbar spine and nearby muscles, and legs.

Let Our Team Assess Your Condition and Prescribe Physiotherapy Treatments

At Specific Care Chiropractic, we know how musculoskeletal injuries and the resulting pain can affect your life. Some injuries cause chronic pain, others can limit mobility, and many can keep you out of work until you get relief. Our team is here to help. While some injuries require rest before we can begin intensive therapy, we can begin to develop your treatment plan at any time.

We also provide medical records, document injuries, and even provide testimony if you’re filing a personal injury or workers’ compensation claim. We can also refer you to an injury attorney in our network who can manage the legal process on your behalf.
